'It is very unfair that DIG Roopa is being transferred while it is Sasikala who should be transferred to Tihar or Mumbai prison', he said. GROSS IRREGULARITIES IN PRISON Murthy stated that as per the Karnataka Prison Manual and Rules, 1978, an under trial can have a visitor, once is seven days and a convict can have a visitor only once in 15 days. According to the 107 days of Sasikala's stay in the Parapanna Agrahara prison up till June 13, she could only meet eight people.

Yet the register acquired through RTI showed that Sasikala met 82 people. 'More shocking to know is that though visitors were allowed to meet a person between 11am to 5pm, she had visitors after 6pm too', he said. 'The document showed that in February alone where she was permitted to see visitors on seven occasions and that too while she only spent 13 days of that month in prison,' claimed Narasimha Murthy. Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah says that DIG Roopa's transfer is based on merit.
