I must say, I am pretty impressed with the 64 bit S18 version! I have a 37 minutes project that now renders in under 35 minutes.

Many many titles, effects and transitions. Working on the timeline is FAST, very responsive. This was not the case with 17 once I hit about 30 minutes length. Also, with 17, the project would not export properly when I hit 4gb file size and I always ended up with a working tmp file I had to rename. Now it completes properly.

I've tried contacting Pinnacle vie their technical section. That truly is a joke. As yet I've had no reply. So I don't know what the forum will be like.

As for the computer it comes up & passes the requirements they say I need. And remember, I'm not asking for any flash multi track, special effects DVD.

Because you have a problem, I guess it's systemic to everyone? Sorry, but it isn't. It's a problem that is specific to you and your system.

I edit fine with it. So do others.

I suggested the forum as an alternative to getting help from Corel, which is hit or miss. It is up to you if you want it. I tell people there is a, I believe 30 day refund, no questions asked. Try if you want.

If it isn't your 'cup of tea' get your money back. But to say it's bad because you are having problems with it is disingenuous on your part. You do not represent others who are not having your problems. Question, is Avid Studio 64bit program?

I understand frustration, but shouting here is not going to get Pinnacle to notice. But being respectful and posting your problems in the user forum might. Just a thought if you really want to see if there is a solution.

I also suggest you try the Pinnacle Forum - there's a lot of people there who have extensive knowledge that can help. - and Corel/Pinnacle do check this site. Studio18 is a new 64 bit program and it is bound to have glitches. All other versions of Studio are 32bit.

There will be missing drivers and codec etc in the 64 bit version - it's modern, it is not cluttered with old stuff. If you want VHS to DVD then stay with Avid studio - you know it works. I use Studio18 - no problems. I have 32 bit plugins that came and work with Studio15. I use it when I want these specific effects. There is always a workaround.
